Persian Calligraphy

Sayed Mazharuddin will introduce us to the beauty of Persian calligraphy. 

                          We will start with "carpenter pencils." 

Sayed will prepare the pencils in advance so they are ready to go.

               Here are a few other supplies you may want to bring-

Paper lined or unlined

Padding for underneath your writing paper

Sandpaper if you want to play with the slant of the pencil.

A towel to catch your pencil filings.

You can also bring a parallel pen or other flat edged tool.

Sayed will provide the Persian alphabet and some guidelines for us.

This will be a new learning curve for us in several ways.  We are writing a new language, that uses different letter forms and is written right to left. 

That's a mindshift!
