PART 2
Beginner Copperplate-style Course
taught by D'Ann Zickau

This is a continuation of Beginner Copperplate-style course that I taught last year. Part 2 is a 4-week course designed to focus on the majuscule letters and flourishing.
PLEASE NOTE: I will begin teaching other lettering styles in two-part sessions (Part 1 will be 4 weeks of minuscules and Part 2 will be 4 weeks of majuscules), each as a separate registration and prices may vary depending on supplies that are included.
Meeting Dates
Fridays, 1:00PM-3:00PM
January 10, 17, 24, and 31
We will meet in-person only at D'Ann Zickau's home. Space is limited to 4 students. If there is a waiting list, another class will be scheduled.
The only prerequisite is that you have had good instruction and practice on the structure of Copperplate, especially the minuscules (lowercase letters). You are free to bring your own supplies. All handouts are provided, and extra basic supplies are available for purchase before class at a discounted rate.
Instruction includes demonstration of all majuscule (uppercase) letters, numerals, basic flourishing, envelope addressing, practice tips, and practical homework assignments. A finished, frameable quote will be our final project.
To receive comprehensive, individual feedback on practice work, students are encouraged to upload photos of their work to Padlet or by email. In-person feedback during class is available but limited due to class time. We will use Padlet as our home for all class notes, recordings, bonus material, and instructor input.
In addition to Friday class instruction and Padlet feedback, students can Zoom me anytime during the week to ask questions or watch a quick demo.
This class is designed to teach you the basics of a copperplate style of calligraphy and to encourage you as a serious student of the craft.
